Direct Quotes allow you to request quotes directly from makers you've worked with before — skipping the competitive bidding process for faster repeat orders.
How It Works
When you build a trusted relationship with a maker through successful projects, you unlock the ability to request quotes directly from them:
- Post projects normally — Receive competitive bids from verified makers
- Choose your favorite maker — Work together and complete the project
- Build trust — After 3 successful projects with the same maker, unlock Direct Quotes

Unlock Requirements
To unlock Direct Quotes with a specific maker:
- Complete 3 successful projects together
- All projects must reach "Completed" status (not cancelled or refunded)
- Leave reviews on at least 2 of the 3 projects
Where to Find Direct Quotes
Once unlocked, you can:
- View your trusted makers in the "My Makers" section of your dashboard
- Request a quote directly from their profile page
- See the "Direct Quote" option when visiting a maker you've unlocked

Q: Do I still get platform protection with Direct Quotes? A: Yes! All Direct Quote projects include the same payment protection, escrow, and dispute resolution as bid-based projects.
Q: Can I still use competitive bidding after unlocking Direct Quotes? A: Absolutely! You can choose either method for any project. Direct Quotes are an additional option, not a replacement.
Q: What happens if a maker declines my quote request? A: You'll be notified and can either revise your request, request from another unlocked maker, or post as a regular bidding project.
Q: Is there a different fee for Direct Quote projects? A: No, the platform fee is the same whether you use bidding or Direct Quotes.
Q: Can Direct Quote status be lost? A: Currently, once unlocked, Direct Quote access remains active. We may introduce quality maintenance requirements in the future.
